About

Joshua Friedman

Employment Law Attorney · Co-Founder, Friedman & Fingerhut

Joshua Friedman is a New York employment attorney and co-founder of Friedman & Fingerhut, PLLC, who only represents employees, never employers. Over a career spanning 13 years, he has recovered more than $28 million for hundreds of workers in New York City, Long Island, and Westchester. He handles wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, and negotiates severance agreements.

Josh built his career from the ground up. In law school, he took an unpaid internship at a Long Island employee-side employment firm while waiting tables at night at a local Italian restaurant. He has never been drawn to representing employers, insurance companies, or institutions. Helping individual people is what he finds most rewarding, and it's fundamental to who he is. He went on to spend many years as a partner at one of New York City's largest employee-side employment law firms before co-founding Friedman & Fingerhut, a practice built on helping people and getting results for them.

Most people call Josh during one of the most stressful moments of their lives, with their income or career on the line. He starts by understanding your goals, then sets clear, realistic expectations and explains every option before any action is taken on your case. You'll hear from him regularly and won't wait long for a response.

With 13 years appearing in New York state and federal courts, Josh knows how employers and their lawyers defend these cases. He uses that knowledge to create early leverage, so you can decide whether a quick, confidential settlement or a lawsuit and jury trial is right for you. He handles every stage, from pre-suit negotiation through litigation and trial.
